Total Rubbish - Kitchen & Dining

It's just rubbish on all levels. When you first start using it, you realize that the cylinder you spin is mostly plastic and has a very small grid surface area, so it produces very little power per rev compared to decent metal cylinders. very little except loops. Today the handle fell off, that was the last straw.

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Periodicity

Not ergonomic for kitchen and dining room

I felt uncomfortable using this grater. I switched from my right hand to my left and it scratched my knuckles. Same thing happened when I gave it to my 10 year old son to grate enough cheese for a casserole. Then I did some research and bought a Zyless grater in the same style but much more ergonomic and a Geedel that sticks to my counter. Much happier with both theses

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Communication with seller

A piece of junk. Broke after 3 months of infrequent use.

Lost part of our previous similar hand grater which worked great for years. I bought this as a replacement but after using it less than a dozen times over a period of about three months the part that attaches to the handle has come loose from the grid wheel. So look for an alternative. This one is poorly designed and poorly built with cheap materials.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Shredded Plastic! the best in grating, peeling and slicing

As you can see in the first picture the inside has also been shredded along with the cheese. Unfortunately, I discovered this by putting plastic shavings in my mouth. In the second photo you can see that the grater doesn't sit well in the handle, there is a space it leans through when grating cheese, as well as a grater in the handle. I wish I had read the comments stating the same problem before purchasing.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Great for hard cheeses

I was originally given this to finely chop parmesan cheese for a pasta dish. It was definitely a lot easier than a traditional cheese grater. It was relatively easy to clean, but I found it required a cold water wash; warm water will make it stick to the metal sides. My hand got very tired after a while and I didn't find it easy to switch hands. It's also not good for soft cheeses as they tend to get stuck in the barrel.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Maddening

Excellent value for money

This is the second order of this cheese grater in the last 4 years. It works well with hard cheeses (Romano works very well, soft mozzarella isn't as effective). This is a very good value hand grater for results and durability as we use a cheese grater on a daily basis for almost everything! Some family members sometimes find it difficult to turn the handle to grate, but I have no problem. gives the final product look/shape, but I tend to only use one. Grater inserts can be difficult to remove.

Pros
  • Very good quality
Cons
  • Defective

Cheap in two ways. Don't waste your time and money!

Favorable in two senses. So cheap I thought I got the deal. Not so. First, it's so unergonomic that it's difficult to hold even if you rub it. Second, it would be helpful to have a lid to hold the cheese while grating (as does its more expensive OXO cousin). Third, it broke during use on the very first meal I tried to use. Absolute rubbish. I've had OXO for three years. It worked great all along, up until the unfortunate combination of being dropped and stepped on. I figured I could save a…

Perfect Parmigiana!

oh my god! Wow! I really thought when I got this that it was going to be a cheap piece of plastic. To my surprise and my wallet's delight, it works like a charm! I used it on some fairly hard aged parmesan cheese I bought at a specialty market and oh my goodness! I felt like I was in Olive Garden and didn't need to feel bad because a guy stood there for seven minutes while his poor arm practically fell off and drowned the whole restaurant in shaved Parmese. Aha! Now I can do it at home! Very…

Would you like some fresh parmesan in your salad?

Yes, I want to! i love this shop I don't know if you know this, but the shredded cheese in the bag is covered with pulp to prevent "caking". Of course, this is probably healthier for you than the dairy itself. I can't help it, cheese has always been the hardest animal product to give up! Go ahead, it's very convenient. Faster than pulling out a food processor or using that awful cow bell shaped cheese grater. It's like the cheese grater they use at the Olive Garden. Perfect for gradually adding

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly
