I used them in a DIY project on Planet Mojo (YouTube channel). I used treated wood for the sole and these hot-dip galvanized shims stand up to the wood treatment. These large square washers provide a much better grip than round washers, and the slots provide flexibility for a slightly off-center anchor bolt. I have also used them on the main house and this design has already withstood winds of around 80mph without issue.
