My daughter and I love making potholders together

My daughter and I love making potholders together. We had a 7 inch machine but decided to upgrade to a 10 inch machine. The hinges for the 10 inch loom are really inconsistent in size. Some fit easily on the loom, while others really take a lot of effort to fit. The colors in the mixing bag are also distributed unevenly. You get a lot of one color and only a few others. I like the consistency of the 7" hinges better. While not entirely consistent, the size range of the 7" hinges we received is…

Cotton; does not shrink after weaving; Stringy

We bought a children's weave set with polyester loops. I've learned that cotton loops are great and really useful potholders. My kids were still interested in braiding so I bought them as my next set of stitches. The potholders were about 1/3 size larger than the polyester ones - big difference. I haven't actually used them under hot pans, but other reviews have said they work well. The only problem (and I would give this one 4 1/2 stars) was that there were too many loose threads in the loops.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I bought 2 of these packs to make sure I had enough. Not really. I had to place a minimum order quantity to be delivered the next day. My 9 year old grandson and I worked on this project together. I ended up being able to make 20 pot holders (10 per bag) from the 4 remaining loops. These loops are a lot nicer than the ones I've used in the past. Darker buttonholes don't stretch as much as lighter buttonholes, but I've found that this is true for all knit fabrics. My family appreciates them as…

The color content is completely unpredictable.

Advantages: Bright colours, consistent size and quality loops, they make excellent potholders. My most recent purchase here was just over 300 loops in this range: 4 Green 18 Plum 30 Lime 22 Blue 8 Orange 49 Purple 21 Turquoise 41 Red 19 Yellow 36 Salmon 31 Peacock 23 Pink. The hinges came in an unsealed ziplock plastic bag. and slightly more than 1% of the content is unacceptable. Four loops is a pity. Harrisville needs to do a better job with a flat assortment. Tip: 8 staples of 36 sts = 288…

Harder to use but definitely better potholders

We made potholders at home and always seemed to lose the colors we wanted, so we ordered replacements from various sources. to see what works best. While not the easiest to use, they are by far the best end product. This is a large bag with bows in very light colors. The colors are gorgeous - turquoise, cobalt, lime green, kelly green, pink, red, reddish purple, yellow, orange - enough to make some pretty combinations. Compared to other loops we've used, these are very thick and less stretchy…

GREAT COLOURS, QUALITY MATERIAL, RIGHT SIZES

I have posted pictures of three potholders I made. They are all made from Harrisville Loops. There are 6 Color Rainbow, Houndstooth and 12 Color Rainbow. Here's how to make them. There are 18 frames on each side of the loom. For the "6 Color Rainbow" the warp and weave are the same, and the pattern is 3 red, 3 orange, 3 yellow, 3 green, 3 blue, 3 purple. For "12 Color Rainbow" use groups as well. of 3 of the same color but chain and binding are different. Also notice that I used 3 shades of…
