Rather spend a few euros more and buy the right tool.

This tool is too short to be very useful. The hole at the end where a screwdriver or other prying tool can be inserted is too close to the side wall of the trailer to be used. Instead of drilling another hole like a YouTube video suggested, I just ordered a Camco water heater bushing and it worked like a charm.

Pros
  • ✅Fits brands: Camco, GE, Rheem, Rudd, Richmond, Montgomery Ward, Sears/Ken More, State, Norge, Westinghouse, Reliance, Noland, AO Smith, Bradford White, GS Wood, May tag, Whirlpool and Duro- Matic water heaters, some Suburban and Mor-Flo.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

You may also need a 1 1/16 " socket and ratchet

Despite using teflon tape I sometimes find that the rod is very tight in its seat, if so this sleeve starts to deform in the holes and/or the cross shaft starts to close bend. Time to find a 1 1/16" socket wrench, extension and 3/4" ratchet handle. For the price, however, this socket wrench is good to have in your emergency tool box. Other similar sockets come with a cross shank. Please note that this is not the case. I would rather risk bending the supplied cross-shank than breaking the handle

Pros
  • ✅The water heater element wrench combined with the anode rod removal tool is easy to use, Zinc Plated A3 carbon steel construction,Use corrosion-resistant materials.
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

As an all-in-one, not a bad idea, though.

The advantage of this tool is that it is double ended, which allows you to pull out both the heating element and the drain plug. Due to its thin-walled design, the 1-1/2" end fits through the rather small opening in the water heater jacket with no problem. A few things I did NOT like about this "outlet". 1) 1-1/2" "Side gaps on first application of torque and I haven't even tried prying out the heating element. It ruined the instrument. The thickness of the steel from which it is made is too…

Pros
  • ✅If you want to protect your water tank and keep it in top condition for years to come, you need to repair the anode and water heater components. Because of its excellent performance, the pipe wrench is just a tool for removing or re-tightening the anode rod.
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

You may also need the 1 1/16 " socket wrench and ratchet

Despite using teflon tape I sometimes find the rod to be very tight in its joint, hence this head starts to warp through the holes and/or the cross shaft starts to bend In that case, it's time to find a 1 1/16" socket, an extension, and a 3/4" ratchet. Similar sockets have a cross shank, that's not the case, I'd rather risk bending it of the included transverse shaft than breaking or bending the handle insert one of my screwdrivers.

Pros
  • ✅If you want to protect your water tank and keep it in the best possible condition for years to come, you should repair the anode and water heater components. Because of its excellence, the pipe wrench is just a tool for removing or re-tightening the anode rod
Cons
  • Concise Instructions
