Just as hot for reptiles and amphibians

I have no idea how this metal cage is going to keep my snake or lizard from getting burned by Che. It is made of metal and like a heater only heats around the world and not just at the bulb.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • I have doubts

Not impressed. suitable for heat lamps

This product comes with rusty springs and sharp edges where the metal grille is attached. (See photo) If the snake wraps around it, it will likely cut itself. We were keen to order a replacement elsewhere so we modified it so it wouldn't hurt our snake.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Trade-in possible

Used in the outdoor wildcat house.

I bought five and they were all the same size. They worked great to protect the outdoor cat run heat lamp. The fence is placed on a floor lamp. I use a flat electric box and a porcelain light. Of the five, only one had small patches of rust where the paint had chipped. Little problem.

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Expensive

ATTENTION sharp edges!

When you receive this cage inspect it carefully, some areas on the edges and on the joints on the cage were jagged and sharp. I was able to use a small pair of pliers to twist any sharp bits inside the cage, but if I wasn't careful my python could cut itself on them. Otherwise the cage works well, but since this cage is designed for animals to climb on (so they don't touch the bulb) I think this is a BIG drawback.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Not sure, sharp edges.

I put this in the PVC case on my Mexican Black Kingsnake to keep it from burning itself on the lightbulb. I've seen him wrap himself briefly around the heat cage some nights and thought nothing of it. I pulled him out after a few nights and saw that he had quite a few scratches and cuts on one side of the belly scales. . As I groped around the isolation cage there were some very sharp edges and sharp wires sticking out. It is enough to scratch and cut the scales, which can lead to infection. I…

  • Hands-Free Operation
