I have now ordered 3 or 4 of these replacement knobs for BMW E39 and Range Rover. Factory buttons on BMW keys suck. If you keep them in your bag, they can last about a year before wearing out. I love how easy it is to swap out these buttons and keep the buttons looking brand new. The exchange takes about 10 minutes and looks perfect. When removing old buttons, I strongly recommend taking your time and not partially removing the buttonholes.

Thought I would have to spend a lot of dollars to replace the key and program it for my 2000 BMW 528i. My key fob looked terrible and the buttons were starting to wear out. Runs like clockwork. I have a 98 528i and also had to cut off the red tab. I get another one to fix my second key. This is an update. On my key was a small black thing the size of a grain of rice. It didn't show up until I removed the worn out set of 3 buttons. This black "thing" needs to be installed with new buttons.
