My dog uses the kennel as his 'safe' place. I never close it or use it for disciplining. Here she feels safe and comfortable when she is not lying on my lap. Before that I only had one blanket in the kennel. I saw and understood this cover. It was so easy to assemble and install. it looks cleaner and tidier and also gives her a "cave" to fall back on. Disappointed with product height for 42" coverage. The item description said it was 30 inches tall which is perfect for my 30" tall (42" long) cage. But it was about 2.5 inches shorter as you can see from the photos. This means that I cannot use the tie-down straps in the corners specified in the online product manual.
