I like the look of these pens and they are good quality. The reason I'm only giving it two stars is because of the screws that came with it. Because these knobs have an extended shank that engages the surface of the case, the screw length required is reduced by approximately 3/8 inch. As a result, the supplied screws were too long for a standard installation (either in a standard thickness door or in a drawer panel with a drawer attached). Each screw had to be cut off about a quarter of an inch

These rustic knobs would be nice if they came with decent screws. They require countersinking the threaded bushing after drilling the screw hole, which can make assembly difficult. The longest screws they came with were a full 1/4 inch shorter than the old cheap knobs I replaced, so they wouldn't connect unless I also countersunk the head of the screw into the box. That was really annoying and of course these pens don't take the old long screws out of the old pens. If these guys would just stop

I can't believe these rods! I would like to rate "0" or even -10. You suck! I'm just starting the return process so we'll see what issues I have. I have bought these rods several times and they are always of very good quality and quite sturdy. The rust effect appears to be handmade and each one is unique so using several in the same room makes them look more authentic. Without the screws I would have given this 5 stars. You need to drill a fairly wide hole for the tie rods to rest on. For this reason, the flat head of the screws must be wider for them.
