Description of πŸ”Œ HiLetgo ADS1115 4 Channel I2C Analog-to-Digital Converter - High Precision for Arduino & Raspberry Pi

High precision ADS1115 16 Bit 4 Channel Analog-to-Digital ADC Converter. An easy to use I2C ADC Converter, with Programmable Gain Amplifier. Especially a good tool for Raspberry Pi that doesn't come with analog GPIO pins. Wide voltage supply range: 2.0V to 5.5V, operate in a comparator mode which is helpful for maintaining accuracy. Single-Shot Mode: Auto Shut Down; Programmable data rate: 8sps-860sps.

Fake chip, cheap junk.

All the modules I bought this year were fake. Either failure immediately or after a few weeks. Reading too high or too low no matter what is connected to their channels.

The address system is a big plus!

Easy to program and unique addressing system to accommodate 4 of these devices on one I/O circuit. It is possible to fit 4 analog circuits on one of these boards and receive signals from all, requiring only two inputs from your Raspberry Pi. This means you can read 16 separate analog signals from your computing device with just two inputs, voltage and ground. Would recommend to anyone learning hardware programming or needing an ADC.

  • Confident

Warning, wrong IC: Home Audio

Be careful when ordering and using these boards. The product IS is wrong. I ordered these and expected them to be 16-bit ADS1115 devices. The marking on the chips corresponds to the 16-bit version of the device, but the real board reacts as a 12-bit device (4 LSBs are always 0, data is output in increments of 16). I spent a whole day looking for the problem and ended up reading several TI forums discussing fake ICs. I will try to return these. A similar board (from another vendor) works as…

Works well with Sonoff-Tasmota and Openhab

Works well! Good quality! NOTE The PGA is set to full scale +/-6.144 VDC. Read the data sheet to understand PGA. Currently Sonoff Basic Version 2 firmware is used with Sonoff-Tasmota 6.6.0 sensor firmware connected via RX-TX pins in IC2 module setting mode. Since the firmware reads the direct value of the bit, I created two rules that convert this bit value to a normal voltage value. Will work to post rules on wiki.fyi, read photos of ADS1115 used AA batteries. with rules and openhab paper UI…

Good breakout board but sensitive to heat when soldering

Either they seemed very successful whether they worked or not or I messed them up soldering the pins. I ordered 30 in total and have 18 workers. Maybe they are very sensitive to heat when soldering because they have tiny traces that don't dissipate heat well and run all the way into the chip like a heat pipe. However, the ones I haven't looked into work great. All in all a good breakout board. I think wider footprints could have been used to protect them from jerks, but if you're careful they…

Not 16-bit - Amplifier

The IC is not 16-bit. It behaves exactly like the 12-bit part in all respects, even though the "BOGI" marking on the IC corresponds to the 16-bit ADS1115 according to the TI data sheet. As with the other two bumps, the low 4 bits are always zero. I tried two different libraries supporting ADS1115 devices for ESP8266 based NodeMCU and both gave the same result. However, the 12-bit ADS1015 configuration works fine. I contacted Hiletgo customer service and they responded. They indicated that they…

Not as advertised, looks like 12-bit not 16-bit

Arduino Raspberry Pi ADC Converter Development Board from Amazon. During the installation the data was very unstable. A gain of 16 in compare mode skipped the data read by 16 units. After some research, it turned out that the ADC I bought was actually a 12-bit ADC. The revised code for the 12-bit version seems to work fine. However, it is clear that the device did not live up to its advertising and did not meet the expected accuracy of a 16-bit ADC. Purchased ADK type identification with QIFFI…
