The parts are relatively strong, but the whole kit is missing rubber washers for the mounting hole. How can they be considered waterproof?

yes it is EXCELLENT white. I needed white, but in a plate at 17ft it works. The clamp part works great, and the connecting nuts also hold three hangers, each weighing about 20 pounds.

I used them to weatherproof the solar panel cables that go to the junction box on my van. They are easy to work with and the junction box seems to stay dry even after heavy rain. Although they may be more significant. And I wish the shaft was longer.

These little things barely differ in inside diameter when open or closed. If you can thread the connector through them, you probably won't be able to tighten them enough to seal the cable or wire. You can see in my photos how with the smallest gland I could put the plug through, after tightening the gland I can still see the light around the cable and through the gland.

Well it's cheap and you get a lot of it. They're decent, but I wouldn't use them for anything really important like a submarine or an offshore oil well. They fit what I wanted them for, junction boxes on a boat that aren't normally submerged. This is an additional layer of insurance. I'm sure there are industrial grade milspec models for 10x the price if you want that level of quality.

Hilitchi's cable gland is a reliable, well-made product. The pack of 30 comes in 5 different sizes, ranging from very small for 0.31" diameter cables to the largest sizes of 0.72".
