Disappointed with this product

My unit is not working properly so I am currently trying to negotiate with the manufacturer for a replacement. The meter's warranty isn't clearly defined, so it can end up being a mediocre paperweight. More information when I resolve my supplier issues.

Pros
  • Large easy to read LCD display
Cons
  • Expensive

Only lasted 1193 gallons (less than 2 years)

Internal sensor failed after 1193 gallons, less than 2 years. The internal sensor, consisting of an impeller with a magnet that passes the reed switch to count the revolutions of the impeller, no longer works. The magnet doesn't seem to move the reed switch anymore, the other magnet "TEST" turns off the reed switch, so apparently the magnet built into the wheel has lost its magnetism. Wouldn't buy another unit, hopefully HM only sells the impeller with the magnet so I can fix it, otherwise itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Programmable alarm indicates exceeded
Cons
  • Packaging crumpled

Does not always measure low flow conditions.

I use this on the outlet side of my 75 gpd 5 stage reverse osmosis system. It seems easy enough once you know the controls. My biggest problem is that after emptying my expansion tank, the direct performance of the reverse osmosis system just doesn't seem to register on the meter. I often fill 4 to 6 5 liter jugs out of my system when doing water changes in my large tanks. I have two surge tanks that release 6-8 gallons fairly quickly and then slow to a steady trickle. If you never run out ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Tracks total liters or gallons used
