Without backrest: Furniture

I have been using this chair daily for 9 months and although I initially liked it I am now looking for a replacement. What I initially liked was that the seat has a very soft and soft, almost gel-like texture. Since I sit a lot, I need a chair that's easy on my tailbone and the seat is just great. But the back end is terrible. The mesh stretched for the first few months and there is no adjustable back support. The cheap plastic part is too far off the grid to be of any use. And note I'm a 5'4"…

Could be better Good for home office chairs

I assembled the chair and when I first put my hand on the armrest it broke (see photo). I messaged HON and they sent a replacement arm which worked perfectly. I bought this chair because the product page said "Made in the USA". I received the chair and found the tags on the chair that said 'Made in the USA from Imported Parts'. Since the box is full of "spare parts" I'm wondering if something is actually made in the US. The lumbar support offers no support as it is just a plastic frame with no…

  • Some issues

We moved after we bought our previous Steelcase Leap Chair for $1000 and it was too big for our new home and desk, but we kept it because it was very expensive. When the Leap chair died (after 17 years) we decided to go cheap. After trying a few chairs under $200 in showrooms, I ordered the Hon Convergence. The seat cushion is spacious, strong and durable. The arms move up and down and can be adjusted wider or narrower. The chair makes a very stable impression. I gave it 4 stars for strength…

Well designed chair Made in the USA

Very reasonable price. It's nice to have a solid work chair from the USA. The last few work chairs I've had didn't feel as sturdy as this one. They creaked and didn't roll very well on my static rug over soft carpet. This chair rolls very well. The design looks beautiful and reliable. The backrest of the chair is made of mesh. When I bought it, I didn't realize how profitable the mesh is. When I bought it I knew the mesh would keep my back warm if I leaned against it for a couple of hours. In…

Well placed chair, customer care.

This is currently an OK chair for the price. Next time I buy a work chair I'll either buy something higher up from the HON range or a different brand. The first issue was that there was so much thread lock when assembling the seatback fasteners that the included Allen wrench couldn't turn them, which wasn't a big deal since I had the tools. The real problem was that this turned the cast nuts and the seat back on both chairs could not be tightened and there was now no way to get the bolts out…

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

This is a great chair at a great price.

I'm a teacher, now I teach from home. The chairs I have weren't comfortable enough to spend multiple hours on a laptop. I struggle with sciatic nerve issues and have been looking for a chair that provides lower back support and a seat that is deeper than the chairs I have used in the past. I also needed a chair that could raise and lower the armrests and seat to fit under my desk as I don't have a desk to work at. I wanted a mesh back to provide ventilation when seated, and I also wanted a…

Good chair for the price but returned

The Hon Convergence is very similar to the Ignition 2.0 in that they have the same adjustment options. Pros of the Convergence: I found the Convergence to be more comfortable as the seat cushion was plush (more memory foam) rather than dense and uncompromising. I don't know if that means faster smoothing. Both chairs also have adjustable plastic lumbar support, but I prefer the Convergence back support. Not because there was more support, but because there was almost no pressure on it and it…
