Doesn't work right away

The device matches the description online and the price is good compared to buying it locally. Unfortunately the module did not work out of the box. My plumber had an extra one on the truck and it worked the first time. I don't know if there was a compatibility issue or not. The device came in a clean box and was unused.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Minor issues

Defective product suitable for temperature and humidity

The Honeywell Aquastat relay failed because the wire retaining screw was soldered to the circuit board. Therefore I could not put an electrical wire under the screw to make circuit contact. Lack of quality control by the manufacturer. I had to purchase another Honeywell Aquastat relay from a local supplier due to the cold weather forecast in my area.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Big and bulky

HVAC GUY 595.00 and said it was a discount!

Everyone please. Do this work yourself! $50.00 is over $500.00 if you call the HVAC guy. There is a video on youtube. There are online resources, my goodness, write to me! It took me 35 minutes. No need to drain the boiler, just turn off the power and use your phone to take clear pictures of where the wires are running. If your boiler does not start, this is one of the possible reasons.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No

I was fine with the idea of replacing it myself, except I wasn't sure how to properly remove and install the probe. So I called my HVAC relative and was glad I did. After more than 25 years, the thermal paste in the shaft was rock hard. He ended up breaking the well trying to pull out the old probe, and the water overflowed from the boiler. Luckily I had the original P/N boiler installation instructions, we got a new fountain and everything was fine after that. (Honeywell 123870A for my Burnham

Works well. in temp and humidity

Even if I give five stars I just want to point out that the small 'doors' end up being a little painful to open and there are some sharp edges on the item you are cutting could. Since this isn't a toy or something you're going to use all the time, but rather a part of a cauldron, it's to be expected that you might need to be a little careful with and/or fighting it. Plus, it's a reliable device that's not shaky at all, and we were able to install it on our boiler quickly. This is our second…

Works well. best for testing, measuring, and validating

While I'm giving five stars, I just want to point out that the little "doors" at the end of this unit are a little painful to open, and there are sharp edges that you can cut. This is a new part from the factory

If you are sure you have your existing Aquastat manufacturer number this is a complete replacement. It comes with a temperature rise gel that you are supposed to place in the aquastat's well to improve performance and I did so the first time I replaced it but have found the gel to harden over the years was and I was struggling to pull the old temp lamp out of the building and I was afraid it would break inside. I didn't use it this time and everything was fine. The only thing I would wish for…

  • Temperature and humidity
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

The device has a design flaw that causes this.

The unit has a design flaw that will burn out the relay leads over time. If you're buying a replacement, this is probably why. The connections are left at the factory for too long and can burn out to other parts of the board and some traces are lightened with solder. Pull back the four metal tabs holding the IC board and lift the board up. Blot up any odd looking connections with a soldering iron and use a pair of wire cutters to snip off the back leads on the board. If you have a hot glue gun,
