Efficient but loud

I really like this fan. We bought it because one of our kids needs more airflow in the car to avoid motion sickness. She keeps it in a cup holder on the back and can turn it on when needed. My only complaint is that it's quite noisy, but we can live with that as the alternative is to open the windows, which is noisier.

Pros
  • hands-free
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Works as advertised: fans

I bought this to keep my dog comfortable in our convertible. It sits at my feet and can get warm there, so I wanted a fan blowing over it. It blows enough to keep it cool but it's very noisy so I only gave it 4 stars. I'm not sure if they make a car fan that isn't that loud, so this is probably the best product I've seen. Fits in a cup holder which is very convenient.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not bad but...

It works best in the engine cooling system and climate control

I knew it wouldn't blow cold air, but it's nice to blow some air on me while driving. However, it doesn't fit in any of the cup holders in my car, so I have to put it between the car seats. I bought a cup holder at Wal-Mart that it fit in, but I couldn't find a place in my car to hang it! Spring. My only real complaint is that it gets a bit hot after only 30 minutes of use. As far as I know this can be normal.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Frequency

The? I do not hear you.

I read the reviews and thought I should throw caution to the winds and get it. We especially need a fan that fits in the center console cup holder to bring much-needed cold air to the back of our truck. We have air conditioning but where we live it gets SO hot that the back seat stays pretty warm if we don't leave it up all the time. The fan does exactly what we wanted and brings cooler air back, but heck they weren't kidding about how loud it gets! It's loud enough that we can't hear music or…

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Unusable features

The thing is loud, doesn't let much air in and doesn't fit in any cup holder I've tried it in. It's TOO BIG for most cup holders and I have FIVE DIFFERENT CARS. We also have Ford trucks and golf carts at work (which is where I wanted to use them) and they don't fit in the regular sized truck cup holders and hang around in the oversized golf cart holders. This is a problem because it's also heavy on top and will fly out if you actually drive it in a vehicle. The base has a straight cylindrical…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Non-automatic

Withstands the heat of South Texas and wins

I've read a lot of good and bad things about this fan. My rating is very good! Here's a little about where I put it. I have a 1999 Ford F150 pickup. It has a front center console that folds down and a single cup holder. That's where I put the fan. There are a few other cup holders, including two that sit next to the vent, but the fan doesn't fit in there. The AC doesn't work so I wanted the fan to be as close to me as possible. Here's how I used it. I did a six hour round trip today, all in…

Pros
  • Rugged Construction
Cons
  • It doesn't always fit
