Not sure if it matters

I had a box of tarnished silver cutlery from a flea market. I used these brushes in combination with Maas metal polish. I used a soft cloth I got from the Dollar Tree. First buffing with a cloth, I used the brush on the engraved part of the spoons. If the brushes helped to neaten the engraved lines, it wasn't enough to make a visible difference. The brushes are well made, the bristles are soft and it looks like they will last a long time without the bristles. I will try them out on my grandma's

Pros
  • Great design

  • Exorbitant piggy bank

Slightly disappointed

I collect antique European silver cutlery. I found a large brush useful for cleaning tarnished fork prongs and appreciate the fact that it keeps my hands clean, but none of the brushes seemed able to get through the intricate embossed patterns on the old cutlery. The bristles on the smaller brush are too long and soft to do anything, but the larger bristles are taller and shorter and do more. I'll use it, but it's not that effective due to its chunky shape and design. Limited efficiency. I'm…

Great brushes for cleaning silver!

These brushes are perfect for what I was looking for. I've used them with Hagerty Silver Polishing Spray and was able to remove years of black tarnish from my adult engraved sterling silver juice cups. The cups are shiny again and I can see the engraving! I can't wait to tackle the pile of silver pieces I couldn't carry due to tarnishing. The brushes were great value because I could get two for the price that others charge for one. The small brush was ideal for nooks and crannies. They're soft,

Perhaps too indulgent: metal polishes

I think this product is for a bygone era when silver owners had many servants who could patiently spend hours removing tarnish from barely tarnished bowls with fine filigree work. It worked (with my silver Hagerty) but very, very slowly. This would probably be best for very lightly tarnished items - to preserve that soft, historic candlelight look that makes silver so beautiful. Paintbrushes are a tedious and ineffective tool when you have dark patinas. A microfiber cloth with plaque remover…

  • No Instructions

LOVE SILVER! I BUY FORTY YEARS! EVEN MY GOODS IS SILVER CALLED GREAT BAROQUE. MANY CORNERS. THESE ARE THE BIGGEST TOOLS TO USE. THEY ARE SOFT. IT WILL NOT SCRATCH AND YOUR STERLING WILL NOT GET THE DRY SILVER CREAM. IT WILL BE POLISHED TO THE BRIGHTEST FINISH YOU HAVE EVER SEEN. WILL IT BE JEWELRY OR Crockery. PS DO NOT USE ANY LIQUID BODY REMOVER, YOU WILL REMOVE YOUR SILVER ALSO, USE OLD FASHIONABLE CLOTHS. TO SHINE SILVER WHEN YOUR FABRICS ARE NOT ENOUGH, USE A CREAMY SILVER CLEANER. USE…
