What a fun way to turn on my new LED lights in the back of my car! The switch cover is a fun throwback to Top Gun, but it's also functional as it prevents you from accidentally turning on the light. I find the terminals are well marked so installation was easy. The red LED at the tip of the switch indicates that you have turned on the switch.

I have used this in a 12v system in my truck to occasionally charge a second battery in the back of the truck for camping use. The switch is used, so I prefer to only charge the extra battery while the truck is running. Yes, the wiring might seem a bit confusing at first, but a few simple experiments will quickly show you what you need. The top pin goes to ground from the LED in the switch, the middle pin goes to power, and the third pin goes to the peripherals. I'm assuming you can use the LED's ground tab to turn off other devices since there's (I'm assuming) an appropriate resistance in common with that LED. I originally thought that adding a rocker switch cover would give it a more industrial look, but in the end I decided to remove the cover and use a bare switch. The cover comes off instantly so removal wasn't difficult. The switch itself is also very easy to install.
