A must have for any RV in the Tools & Equipment section

Ok we have a 40ft camper trailer that is having power issues during peak season, the voltage drops well below 110v. I was not sure how or what difference that would make, but after plugging it in and comparing the before and after voltages, I was blown away. Turn on the microwave and air conditioner and it balances maintaining a constant voltage. If you have a trailer you need one of these, they are worth the money and help protect your investment.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Some difficulties

I am very happy with my decision to purchase Voltage Booster and .

My mobile home is permanently stationary and we have voltage problems this year. My voltage was so low at times that my surge protector kept shutting down my camper at 102 volts. When I ordered this I doubted it would actually work, but after reading other reviews I decided to give it a try. I've been using it for about a week now and the air conditioning works all the time in high temperatures. With the voltage booster I'm between 116 and 122 volts. Now I can use all household appliances andโ€ฆ

Bad product, great idea, poor customer service from manufacturer

This product is designed to increase your parking power by 10 volts when it falls below 115 volts and will automatically increase 2 volts. The first picked up 10 volts and all I knew was that my surge protector cut power to my van when the voltage exceeded 129 volts. AMAZON has reconfigured the 1st autoformer and replaced the defective item excellently. I get a replacement the next day, 1 serial number higher than the 1st, same problem. Called Hughes Autoformer, spoke to Ian, his response wasโ€ฆ

  • Great for a small home

Essential for 100 degree weather

Well, it's hot here in Houston and our RV fleet suffers from the heat of the day due to relatively low voltage. So I decided to try the Hughes Autoformer, it's expensive but a good investment compared to an AC replacement. My voltage was 111 when I unplugged the RV. I connected the camper to the autoformer and the autoformer to the base. The voltage immediately rose to 116, and after the air conditioning compressor started, the unit began to climb to 122. After walking a little, the device rose

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Voltage boost not as advertised

Feels good. Looks good. Compact for what it is. Auto-acceleration is not a disadvantage and it is not your only solution. The voltage increases to a minimum of about 8%. This results in 130V from a 120V source. This may be technically fine for most devices, but could get dangerous if the voltage increased a bit. While many sites tend to be on the low campground soda, I've seen some hit 125 BEFORE each boost. This level of boost can also cause the switch to trip. Transformers work by increasingโ€ฆ

I've never known better when it comes to tools and equipment

I bought a small unit that plugs into the outlet in my RV and was amazed but the consistent low voltages I was receiving at several campsites , 106-112V I was about to buy a regular surge protector but I never knew about low voltage. looked around and this very expensive item looked like it was custom made to solve my problems. It came in its own packaging which had pictures of it and also said it was very heavy (10-15lbs?) so I think you want a safe place to ship it. I plugged it into the base

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

I bought this to solve problems I was having in a seasonal site where the voltage could drop to 94V. We have a small trailer so my average amp draw with fridge and air con was around 9 -10 amps. (Obviously a toaster oven or microwave will cause large spatters.) I replaced the AC unit with a more efficient unit and now with Autoformer my park draw is around 7-8 amps, even with voltage adjustments. Despite its 10% rating, it's like a sliding scale. If it only needs to boost 7 volts, that's all it

Pros
  • Inverter
Cons
  • Expensive
