Spring. It has its own characteristics and small problems, however.

I had the same problem as many here where the remote works fine and then after 2-4 weeks it suddenly becomes sluggish and makes you want to throw it It and tivo through the window. I even called Humax to get a replacement remote and they were supposed to send one but never did. I didn't care as I had picked up some good AA batteries (cheap Walgreens) the day after my call. Plugged them into the remote and voila! Everything was back to normal, no more lags, no more standing right in front of the

Pros
  • The season pass feature automatically records every episode of your favorite show for the entire season
Cons
  • Not trendy

Extremely easy to use, picture quality not certain

I don't want to go through all the Tivo features but they really are amazing and not advertised at all. This Humax device has all of these features plus a DVD-RW drive that's perfectly integrated with the rest of the Tivo interface. Burning a DVD is as easy as inserting a disc into the drive and selecting what you want to transfer to DVD from the list. Each show has a percentage after its name indicating how much space the show will take up on the DVD, and the amount of space left on the disc…

Pros
  • Playback for DVD, DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW, A/V-CD
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

I love it! but it depends on what you are looking for.

I have owned an 80 hour Tivo Series2 for many years and bought a DRT800 shortly after it was released last fall. I had never heard of Humax before buying this device but so far I've been quite happy with it. In general, I think when looking at this device it depends on what you're looking for in the first place: Tivo or DVD. -Recorder. If you are primarily looking for a Tivo and want the "added bonus" and convenience of a built in DVD burner then the DRT800 is fantastic! It's everything…
