Overall I am pleased with the Hygger 48" aquarium light. Controlling it without a remote takes some time to get used to, but over the years I've lost faith in remotes for these lights .as they always fail eventually. I'm not rating this for a 24/7 timer as I don't use that feature, but it seems easy enough to program if you follow the instructions. This is a very good quality light. If there wasn't a better option for the same price, I would most likely leave it. However, it didn't work for me just because of the timer function. First, the timer is not customizable. So if you're using 24/7 mode, stick to the light settings (sunrise to sunset). The light settings used are great, but I wanted more settings. At such a low price I am very satisfied with this lamp. The color is exponentially better than the light that came with my tank. The light is very bright. In fact I would say too bright, I use this light on either the lowest or second lowest brightness setting. I also use a 10 hour timer that turns the light on and off.
