No shine.: Brake Tools

Ok for the price, but definitely not a high-quality or well-known branded tool. It lacks a variety of tube sizes and at best just a "good" set.

Pros
  • Single and double flare tool kit includes a wide range of sizes: 5 adapters - 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2 in. (4.8, 6, 4 , 7.9 inches). , 9.5 and 12.7 mm).
Cons
  • Safety

LOW QUALITY - DON'T LOSE YOUR MONEY

The idea is that it should work, but very poor quality. The tolerances aren't tight enough to secure the tube and flare it evenly, meaning it won't be airtight if you manage to flare the tube without tearing. I spent money on it and now I'm overpaying for a better tool. Don't waste your time like me, do something better the first time!

Pros
  • Designed for flaring single or double flares in a variety of materials: copper, aluminum, brass, magnesium and mild steel brake line tubing. (Does not apply to hard materials such as steel, iron...). Can be used with brake line, HAVC, A/C brass line, etc.
Cons
  • There are nuances

The one I bought worked fine.

I needed this kit to repair and modify the gas lines in the RV as well as the water lines in the house. The price was so low that I feared it would not work as advertised. I used this to fix the gas line to my water heater on wheels. It worked fine; Just remember to use fine sandpaper to sand down the tooth marks on the pipe. This allows the fittings to rotate freely. I was able to seal all my connections well (tested with a bubble test).

Pros
  • Advanced Heavy Duty Design is forged from heat treated steel for durability and strength.
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Spend a little more money for a better tool

I bought this because I figured I wouldn't need to use it often and that I could find out. After many tries and a lot of wasted material I settled on the ARES 18025-3/16" double flare tool which is 200% better (I got a perfect flare on the first try). This tool leaves too many variables open to go wrong (Squareness of fitment, tightness of hose, hose prep, etc.) and I can't imagine getting everything right with the brake line still attached to the vehicle.Save yourself the frustration and risk…

Pros
  • Chrome plated alloy steel swivel reduces friction and promotes a smooth, even flare.
Cons
  • Big and chunky
