I bought one of these for my Duramax truck and after installing it leaked around the filter where it connects to the body. So I sent it back and got another one and it leaked too. These things are garbage. So I bought a repair kit for the filter housing.

This product is scrap! If I could give him a zero, I would! 1) The new bolt holes are not sealed deep enough so a gasket had to be used to install them. 2) The filter was almost impossible to screw on, but eventually I was able to do it. 3) The bleed screw was almost impossible to screw back into the hole after I removed it to bleed the fuel. 4) After installation I pumped it up to pressure and it came out of the bleed screw, filter gasket and press fits. Garbage! I'm pissed that I wasted time…

I didn't get a good answer as to whether IJFJ cast their own filter heads or just repackaged them, but I had trouble getting my filter to seal after a good install. During the first disassembly I found some aluminum shavings left over from the machining process! The support guy went above and beyond for me and after a month the truck still hasn't let me down but if you buy this product a thorough inspection and cleaning before installation is in order. Otherwise good looking product.

After reading some forums comparing this filter to all the big brands it definitely looks ineffective as a true water separator. and at this point I'm not sure I trust the Mikron rating. I bought one and did some more testing before installing it. Just watch part 2 of the diesel filter shootout. I had or should say I had a cat filter and adapter on my truck when I bought it. It was necessary to install a new filter and the factory primer started leaking after I flooded it after a filter change. So far the product is working well. But. The product is not even close to OEM designed. The intake and exhaust ports don't even come close to following the same curve as the OEM. Makes it almost impossible to connect hoses. First, it doesn't make the hoses long enough. So you have to change the hoses.
