The ignition key now works like new.

A vexing problem with a worn front derailleur on a 1999 Malibu has been completely resolved. The theft/shutdown indicator did not repeat itself with the new cylinder. Also solved the problem with turning off the key. Of course, it does not replace electrical contacts.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Fixed issue where my key wouldn't turn!

Installed on a Chevy Impala LS 02 and works great. I got tired of struggling with the key not turning and this solved the problem. Quality item for the price. You just have to be patient while you reprogram it, but it's very easy to follow the instructions that come with it.

  • New
Cons
  • Expensive

Regularly starts the problem is not solved.

Installation is easier than the instructions show. I didn't have to remove the radio, the reset button is accessible through a square hole right next to the ignition switch. The programming described in the instructions was also superfluous, it started immediately without programming! TEN STARS!

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • A lot

Perfect Fit: Ignition Parts

Bought a 2005 Impala for my daughter who was having trouble turning the ignition key. It also acted like a neutral safety switch might trip. Went to fix it with a lighter and ordered the ignition. Arrived a day earlier than expected. Fits perfectly and seems to have been the cause of her starting problem. Thanks for a great product.

**UPDATE** 2 years parts good

Bought this lock cylinder in July 2019 Update today September 21st Ignition key would not turn no matter what was done had to drill it out and replace. I ordered another one and it worked as usual from the same company. They offer a lifetime guarantee. Let's see what happens when I contact them. Hopefully it will last longer than 2 years. These cars are easy to replace, if it weren't so easy I'd go with a better quality part so I know I won't have to do it any time soon

2002 Chevy Malibu Fits Lock Cylinder

Replaced an old part with this one. Attempting to repeat the password relearn procedure with a 10 minute process and a 30 minute process after a 10 minute process didn't work. None of them were successful. I also disconnected the battery and everything else that YouTube recommends and my theft indicator is still on. It will boot normally for a few days and then one day decide it's not working so we have to let it sit for an hour to boot. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Pros
  • Great Overall Performance

I will never buy this product again in my life

As a result, the ignition lock closed for me. I had to drill out the ignition switch because it was faulty...then the control unit broke. So I had to go to 1AAuto or CarParts. I have forgotten where I went to order a product because this product did not let me down. After 2 days everything was blocked. He didn't want to position himself. From then on he didn't want to change to the ACC position at all. It was uncomfortable. Never again! The only way to disable this switch is to drill out the…

Happy with my purchase

We've spent years wiggling our key to find the middle ground to start the car. Eventually I came to search what is needed to solve the problem and how to do it. Money was a big factor, we don't have much of it so I'd rather do it myself if I can (I'm not talking about cars). Not only was this product in brand new condition, the instructions that came with it were very simple. to understand. Between the paper instructions for this and the installation from YouTube, it was quick and easy and we…
