Works as advertised

Used to connect a 100w solar panel to a factory SAE plug on my motorhome. Easy to use and includes a polarity adapter in case your existing SAE plug is reversed like some motorhomes do.

Doesn't fit standard solar cables

I didn't like that the description made me think it would fit standard solar cables. It's not like this. never mind It only wasted a week of my time until I finally bought the Make Your Own Solar Cable Kit. It was the ticket.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Pay attention to polarity

We used it to connect our new solar panels to the 'Zamp' solar connector on our camper van. We routed wires from the solar charge controller and then used this adapter to connect to the van. So we needed a polarity inverter, which is included in the kit. In this case you should be very careful with the polarity of your installation.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons

A quality adapter when it fits.

Looks like a well made adapter. This is exactly what I need to charge small DIY battery boxes. I particularly like the polarity switch that comes with the kit. The only thing I find negative is the fit. The ends of the SAE connector are molded straight, but everything I will be connecting to has curved sides. I need to round it off with a knife and/or sandpaper.

  • Satisfied so far

  • Protection

Good product, best of the solar panels

As advertised. This one comes with zamp wire (reverse polarity means the positive wire is covered). So if you are using a different brand of solar panel (I have a Renogy system) you will need to use a reverse polarity adapter to safely plug directly into the Zamp wired connection on your RV that most RVs now have. It works. Or you can reverse the polarity on your controller by swapping the wires and screwing them back on. But there's no reason to complicate things. Just plug in a polarity…

Polarity reversal is easy with the included adapter

There are a few issues mentioned in the complaints in the reviews. The first is reverse polarity for RV use. This kit comes with a polarity reversing adapter on the SAE side. Use it when you need it. Easy. The second issue is that someone said the wire is not copper, but the product description says the wire is tinned copper strands, so I'm guessing it looks like aluminum strands, but it's probably copper as stated by the manufacturer . these complaints because they almost made me give up a…
