Wrong pin assignment

If you buy this connector, please note that the wiring is wrong. I bought it for a simple purpose: power the OBD device (GPS tracker) with 12V+ and 12V-, and although the pinout diagram says Green/White should be pin 16, no power (12V +) applied to the green/white wire. Instead it was a red wire. Allow some time with a multimeter and a paperclip to determine which wire goes to which OBD pin. DO NOT RELY ON THE PROVIDED CHART.

Pros
  • Robust surface
Cons
  • Reliability

Perfect fit, the cable cores are well pre-insulated and tinned.

Required to supply 12V to the OBD Mobile Data Terminal when the vehicle is outside the vehicle to charge the battery. I had to measure GND and +12V, because the wire colors do not agree with anything other than differing from neighboring colors, but says nothing more to the seller than to expect to have an ohmmeter handy when connecting. The seller kindly cleaned and tinned all the conductors. Good assembly, quality cable, quality connector, perfect mechanical and electrical interface with the…

SMALL wires, wrong pinout

Now I have to manually check ALL the pinouts. There was no further information on the finds other than the photo in this listing/description. This tiny wire is VERY difficult to work with. I would suggest that you solder and heat shrink ALL the connections with this thin wire. Use a good quality ceramic soldering iron and be VERY careful with the temperature. This little wire can burn out if you are inexperienced. I have homemade OBD connectors and am using them in this project instead, which…

Random non-standard pinout

Higher quality products follow the standard color sequence. Not this product. The cables received do not match the color order either in the description or in the seller's answers. The time I wasted ringing the pins and creating my own pinout was worth more than buying two new obd2 connectors from someone who can meet the standards. If you just want to power a device like a tracker, finding three wires isn't so bad and this cable will work. If you're looking to replace a broken odb2 port, look…

Wrong pinout otherwise normal

Replaced the frequently failing OBD2 connector on my 2013 FRS. Used a multimeter and dupont wire to identify all the wires, then found that the standard connector only used 7 wires. Save time and find out what you really need. For FRS it was 4, 5, 6, 8, 13, 14 and 16. I had two red wires and had to switch them thinking I might have blown a fuse or something. A friendly reminder to disconnect the battery when changing plugs - there is 12V and the ground is exposed if you simply strip the wires…

Pros
  • Lasting test results
Cons
  • High price

I need an OBD2 port to connect to a USB cable to make a custom cable for to make a 1995 Camaro. . One of the lucky GM vehicles to have an OBD2 connector and OBD1 computer so the wiring and testing is special as none of the systems match the usual test or test equipment. It was perfect because I could choose which wire went where and where without cutting the end. I used the cable assembly instructions for the Scan9495 cable on their website, used their software and guess what. Now I get more…

Good product! - Code Readers and Scanners

This product is universal, it will work as a replacement for any OBD2 connector when properly connected. Most cars only use half the cables or so that an OBD2 port is available, so don't feel overwhelmed. I read reviews that the wires don't match the diagram in AD, maybe this is the case with some devices, but everything was correct for me (checked before installation). Be sure to solder the wires and use heat shrink tubing to protect them. This is not a part you will ever want to deal with…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
