When I was looking to sell my house, an inspection revealed that some of my outdoor sockets needed to be replaced due to missing covers. The only place I could find them was here on Revane. I can't believe these plastic pieces cost as much as they do, but they were cheaper than replacing the entire outlet.

Both of our original covers broke at the point of attachment. a lid could not be closed. I heated the joints in very hot water, tried to reattach it and it snapped into place with a little effort. The cover covers the outlet and allows the timer cords to slide through the cutouts.

This was an exact replacement for a lid that was broken by some overzealous cleaners in our house. As others have said, getting hard plastic through the pins can be quite difficult. The hair dryer trick didn't work for us. In the end we carefully sawed off a tiny piece of the peg. That was enough to snap the lid on and it seems secure.

When I received the item it looked very well made and I bought 2 at a very reasonable price. When I put them on the electrical box, they didn't fit in the side holes. I didn't want to force it and risk breaking the lid. I almost sent them back but ended up at Revain and read a review where a lady suggested dipping the part holding the lid in a glass of very hot water and then putting them on. It worked like a charm!
