I love it once I get it working!

I was going to put this into a new build I got with Windows 10, but then I realized that the file server I was building at the same time (which is an older computer) only had USB 2.0. So I decided to put it in this machine instead since I have a lot of old 2TB USB sticks. This old computer runs Windows 7. The computer didn't have a CD/DVD drive, so I couldn't insert the driver CD that came with it to start it up. But it seemed (at first) to find the card and install drivers for it. I hooked upโ€ฆ

Works on Ubuntu 14.04

I installed this on a Dell Optiplex in a PCI v2.0 1x slot. The operating system was already installed and when I rebooted the Linux drivers picked up the device. I didn't bother with the drivers provided by the company. I also ran some tests with USB 2.0: Command: rsync -avh -L [source] [destination] USB 2049 MB/s: 6.2 GB binary 35 MB/s: 84 GB mixed directory USB 3087 MB/s: 6.2 GB binary 90 MB/ss: 84 GB mixed file directory I also did a sustained transfer via USB 3.0 406 GB with an averageโ€ฆ

Two completely different experiences

I installed one of these on my gaming PC about 2 years ago. It worked and still works great on this PC. I had no problems with powering the port (problem as the card doesn't have a dedicated power connector and gets all its power from the mobo). I bought another one of these guys for my other PC (streaming PC). Worked great again. in a week. I noticed 2 nights ago that the card is not transferring data. I think it sends electricity because every device I plug in turns on for a moment and thenโ€ฆ

It does what it says on the tin

I was skeptical that this would be fully powered by an AC adapter without the need for power. My first thought was that it could only read/write and use other low power devices and wouldn't be able to power things like speakers or charge a phone/headset. You can buy without worry. He feeds everything! I specifically wanted this device because it doesn't require any additional power as the distance between my GPU and my latest PCIE is very short and I didn't want cables rubbing against my GPUโ€ฆ

Great board from a great company!

This is a great addition to my desktop system. I added it to use my new external hard drive and I think I made the right choice this time. The USB 3.0 speed of this card is remarkable. This is the second USB 3.0 card I'm using. I'm sorry to say that the first one didn't work for me. I had to buy it for the FIRST TIME! Installation was very easy. If you need driver update for it just go to their website and I'm sure you can download everything you need for free. past, but it was not necessaryโ€ฆ
