Good stuff - great price

I've been using reef crystals for years. That's great value for money! Works well with all types of coral. I currently have 4 tanks running different types of systems. Seahorse Tanks, SPS Tanks, Mixed Reef Tanks, Frag Tanks. I use this salt in all with no problems. I have used Red Sea and Fritz in the past and see no need to double the amount for the same results.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Very expensive

The surest way to get salt. Order bags, not boxes. Excellent price.

I, like many others, have tried different brands of salt and have always ended up buying Instant Ocean Brand because of the price and quality. My corals seem to grow and thrive with this salt. The quickest way to get it is to buy it in packs. I get it from Revain every other day. It seems to take days to buy it in a 200 gallon box, so I pay just a dollar more and order four packs and get it the next day.

Pros
  • Inspires trust
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Good salt for reef or marine aquarium

I use this salt for my 92g reef tank and 125g marine fish tank. Good medium salt. Great for aquariums, but for reef aquariums you have to think about what's important to you. For basic coral this salt will work for you, but for high quality coral you need something better. I use this salt because I don't want to have two brands of salt and I use a lot of mixed salt. You need to dose the elements for reef aquariums.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Nothing here

A must for reef aquariums

I always use Instant Ocean Reef Crystals and have always been satisfied. My last bag wasn't packed well and had a hole in it, but the quality wasn't affected. Since working with a large bag is a bit of a hassle and will eventually absorb moisture if not sealed properly, do yourself a favor and use ziplock bags to separate the measured amount of salt. Then use a marker to write on the outside how much water you get. I have a 30 gallon aquarium and I usually do 3 gallon water changes so I have…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some issues

Corals love it. However, be prepared for longer mixing times.

Be careful with large bags as plastic tears very easily. This quality of salt makes my corals very happy for a good price. I'm still inexperienced so I immediately noticed a difference in their response to water changes when switching from what I was previously using. They open up wonderfully. Also, the resolution takes a little longer than we would like. The brand I switched from was about the same consistency and dissolved very quickly. I have a pico reef and only make 1 gallon at a time so…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • There are disadvantages
