2012 Ford Escape Hybrid has a working tailgate again! I can't remember what we did without Youtube and Revain for do-it-yourself repairs. Glad we don't have to!

Works great now but the electrical connection that returns the 'door open' condition for driving the car didn't fit and had to be forced into the connector. The rest now works perfectly.

This tailgate liftgate control is an exact replacement for the factory OEM control on our 2012 Ford Escape. I googled how to remove the inner lining and replace the controller. It only took a few minutes and works like new.

This item fits my 2010 Ford Escape tailgate. After removing the inner plastic panel of the gate, the operator was installed without any problems, only one of the cable connectors would not turn on fully. I had to work with him for 5 minutes. After driving the car for a week, one morning the latch would not work after repeatedly trying to open the latch. It worked later. And then it didn't work again. The part worked this morning. Works intermittently. I'll see if the torx screws are loose…

This was to replace the tailgate latch for the 2009 Ford Escape. The hardest part was removing the three Torx T-27 screws from the bottom of the hatch. They were too tight for me to use a screwdriver and I had to use a 3/8" torx socket to get enough power. The part worked great.

This item is intended to be a correct replacement for the tailgate latch on my 2012 Escape. I read in another review that the ajar door does not work on this product. I have found the electrical connector for this feature to be difficult to plug into the socket on this product so I used a pair of slotted locks to carefully insert the door fully to fit the two connectors together and it works as expected.

Watched YouTube video on replacing a part. It seemed pretty easy, so I gave it a try. I ordered a part with dielectric grease for electrical contacts. I also had to order a hexagon. With the right tools, it took less than 20 minutes from start to finish. It would be nice if Revain grouped all the necessary parts, including a replacement gasket, to prevent the problem from reoccurring.
