Not too fast (for this type of SSD), not too slow - the price is spot on.

No, it's nowhere near as fast as my 950, but it's still a lot faster (at least when reading) than a "traditional" 2.5" SSD, and pretty close in price . Intel makes solid products and backs them with a five-year warranty. Used as the boot/system drive for my wife's new computer. She seems happy with it, so I'm happy :) Cons: Unlike their 2.5" SSDs, there is no "Intel Data Transfer Software" available for this model, so you'll have to find another solution if you have one existing clones need…

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

Works as advertised

Works as expected. It's not the fastest SSD, but it's faster than what I had and I'm happy with it. It's also cheaper than faster SSDs. I am using this with an ASUS Hyper M.2 x4 Mini board and a Z87 motherboard. I had to change the bios to make it work as a boot disk. Since then I do not have problems anymore.

Horrible in every way

Don't buy this, there's no point. It doesn't behave any better than a SATA SSD and performance is inconsistent. When I filled the initial 16GB partition with incompressible data, I got a reasonable write throughput of 170MB/s, but after a few gigabytes the performance dropped to 20MB/s for a few seconds, then picked up again, then dropped off again. and so on until I was done recording. After reading some reviews, I realized that this is filling the external cache of the Intel SLC. I just don't

Excellent low-cost V-NAND NVMe (PCIe 3.0 x4) M.2 SSD for storage

You can buy.- - - - -This is a TLC SSD. TLC is a type of SSD that is inferior to MLC SSDs (e.g. Samsung's 950 PRO and 960 PRO). For the price, however, it's a winner. Another competitor for this is Samsung's forthcoming (at the time of writing) 960 EVO, which also uses TLC NAND. However, this gets more expensive at launch. Plus, Intel already has you covered. I personally think that if you do a normal non-enthusiast build and not "show off" that's more than enough. Why? The transition from HDD…

Excellent performance per dollar

I've been a big AMD fan for 20 years and have decided to switch to an Intel system. I was initially sat between Samsung 960 EVO series - 250GB PCIe NVMe - internal M.2 SSD (MZ-V6E250BW) and Intel 600P, more Samsung due to impressive transfer speeds. Unfortunately, there are no 256GB modules anywhere. Later I found out about Intel NVMe modules. This is entry-level NVMe, so price and performance. So I switched from Samsung to Intel. I bought 2 of these to create a RAID-0 and the performance is…
