Review on πŸ’» Intel 600p M.2 80mm 256GB PCIe 3.0x4 3D1 TLC SSD Retail by Dylan Baldwin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not too fast (for this type of SSD), not too slow - the price is spot on.

No, it's nowhere near as fast as my 950, but it's still a lot faster (at least when reading) than a "traditional" 2.5" SSD, and pretty close in price . Intel makes solid products and backs them with a five-year warranty. Used as the boot/system drive for my wife's new computer. She seems happy with it, so I'm happy :) Cons: Unlike their 2.5" SSDs, there is no "Intel Data Transfer Software" available for this model, so you'll have to find another solution if you have one existing clones need ride. There is no pre-installed Win7 driver for this model and apparently only for this model. A driver is available for the rest of the Intel NVME lineup. Basically, if you do a clean install of Win 10, it's great. When you need to clone an existing Win 8.1 or 10 drive, things get a bit more complicated. Installing Win7 on it is a world of pain.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly
