KVM looks nice and seems to work as well as my VGA

KVM looks nice and seems to work as well as my VGA. Except that the display port spec means you lose your monitor when you switch inputs. So if you switch inputs that indicate a break on this computer, Windows and Linux will rearrange everything for you. I can't find any good software that disables this auto-detect feature. Also, my keyboard is USB 3.0 which means I have to use a hub port and lose all hotkey functionality. I think I'll go back to the old technique.

  • Electronics
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

Suitable for external components

Definitely the best switch I've bought. My current setup includes a 27-inch Wacom Cintiqu monitor, a custom PC, and a MacPro. Wacom is connected to the switch via the display port and USB. Both computers recognize Wacom without any problems when switching between them. The only downside is that I get little audio feedback from the speakers connected to the hub. Maybe my speakers are badly insulated or the switch is defective. However, this is only visible when the apartment is really quiet.

Pros
  • Computer and accessories
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other components

All driver issues for ViewSonic XG3202-C Curved.

All sorts of ViewSonic XG3202-C Curved Monitor Driver problems. Have 2 brand new Lenovo computers and constantly struggle with getting the monitor to show again after changing monitors. I would never buy this again.

Good upgrade from old version of GCS

This KVM switch has two USB 3 hub ports. 1 front and 1 rear. I connected the rear USB 3 port to a ViewSonic XG monitor using a hub extension cable. I have a camera, headset and programmable keyboard connected to an XG monitor as an extension to a USB KVM hub. Programmable keyboards with dual interface cables will not work with this KVM, but so far it seems that programmable mice will work, so I used a monitor to pair with the keyboard. The front USB hub works well with removable drives. Forโ€ฆ
