Works well but keyboard shortcuts are annoying

EDIT: After contacting IOGear support I was told that the product no longer supports keyboard shortcuts which as I mentioned below doesn't work for me function. I deduct a star for that. I bought this KVM after buying a cheaper one that didn't work well when switching between Linux desktop and laptop/dock. Eventually I found a blog post that mentioned it works, and it does. Switching takes a few seconds but is acceptable. For use with a traditional Inland and Kensington USB wired keyboard and…

Decent KVM with a few issues to note

I have three of these KVMs now, bought the first one almost 10 years ago and I have to say while I give it a 4 star rating it is a bit of a mixed kvm but i would buy it again as there really aren't many alternatives in the same price range. Pros: Cheap for a 4-port USB KVM Supports a fairly high resolution (easily 1920x1080) Once you get used to the combo switch, it becomes very natural and very fast. Supports all operating systems tested so far: Windows, Linux (CentOS, Mint, Raspbian, Ubuntu),

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something different

A big slope. best of KVM switches

I read the comments that wireless keyboard/mouse is not supported and I agree with that. I'm using an MS 4000 keyboard and a wired Logitech mouse. I don't use the video jack and now see (from the mini product manual that came with the switch) that I could get by with the IOGear GUS404 USB switch for half the price. It took a few minutes to figure out the instructions and set things up. It took the Switch a few connects and disconnects to figure it out. After that, the [ScrLk][ScrLk]#[Enter] and

A few minor issues but still a decent product

works great but 1 star docking for two reasons: the installation guide was a little lacking and I couldn't get the switching methods to work without contacting their support team . which was also not quite so clear and understandable. but I was able to fix the problem and get it working. And port 1 has chosen to shut down when connected to everything that is used daily. he just dies. I switched my media center, which I only switch to once or twice a month, to port 1 and haven't had any problems

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Better than what I had

All of my experiences with inexpensive KVM switches have been good or bad. I have different computers and devices. I wanted a switch for USB and VGA. This switch turned on the audio (speaker, not mic), so that was a bonus. I have a Sunray Thin Client that needs to communicate directly with the monitor. This KVM switch does a great job here as the display has a maximum resolution. Tye KVM comes with 4 x 6ft cables. However, two of these are hardwired to the box and the other two are proprietary.

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
