I love my iRobot and these wall barriers work great

I love my iRobot and these wall barriers work great! I started with 1, now I have 5 and use them all. I especially like having 2 for my curtains. I dust under the curtains with a mop, then build a wall barrier along each window to keep the vacuum cleaner from rubbing against the curtains. Dinner is coming up! iRobot works great and saves me a lot of work. No more dust balls!

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • Mediocre

A magical barrier only robots can see!

Poor Steve doesn't like the virtual wall. He doesn't like it at all. Every day he gains courage by pacing and slowly making his way to where the virtual wall is keeping watch. He picks up speed, heads for the forbidden door, but turns away in cowardly shame at the last second. He tries to pretend he doesn't mind—he vacuums the rest of the room like nothing happened—but I can safely say he does. Poor Steve.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • A bit torn

If you have an open floor plan, you need it!

For a large open house, some of these virtual walls are a must. I have large openings for my rooms and the virtual walls don't extend far enough to keep Roomba out of most of my rooms, but I've found that I can place one on one side of the opening and the other on the opposite side and block each one about 6 foot holes. I find that dividing a large room with virtual walls makes the Roomba more efficient than trying to clean a large area.

Pros
  • Pretty Package
Cons
  • Angry

Will die in 60 days, still under warranty

Needed extra walls to keep the rumba out of certain spots so bought these two sets from Tech & Deals. One of the two stopped working after a few weeks, at times despite inserting new batteries several times. At some point it stopped working at all. It turns out that both iRobot and the seller only offer a 30-day warranty on Roomba or any accessory from the day the order is placed. It is a fake. They should have 1 year warranty. They are too expensive to spoil so early. Not happy at all.

  • Fingers crossed

Stopped working just before return window

Apparently I'm one of the unlucky ones. After reading the reviews I decided to buy this particular virtual wall but like many other 1 star reviews the device worked great... until it suddenly stopped. It no longer prevents Roomba from stepping over a protruding wall. The new batteries didn't work either, although the lights on the virtual wall flickered. Also, it came with no instructions (another gripe you'll see in the reviews), so I have no idea how to fix anything other than fresh…

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Works well with my Roomba 650. Much smoother than the original walls (big bulky white walls). few years back) and updated walls that are slightly longer. They are very small and unobtrusive and do not stand out against the background of the wall. They also look very techy and have a glowing light when the battery is low. A really nice addition is the Halo mode, which seems to work really well. When the Virtual Wall is set to Halo mode, the Virtual Wall prevents Roomba from accessing a circle of

Protects E-Sweepio from pet food bowls

If you have a Roomba and pets, you almost certainly need at least one of these. We use the virtual wall that came with Roomba for doors, but we have pets, water bowls, and food bowls that we don't want E-Sweepio (that's what we called our Roomba) to mow down for daily cleaning. . It wasn't like he was trying to climb over the bowl, but like most obstacles, he pushed it a few times to go around it, and the push was hard enough to get the water out of the bowl over himself and up to splash him…

So far, so good! in vacuums and floor care

I've only had it for a week and in that time I've put it to good use. They take a bit of getting used to as the invisible barrier seems wider than I expected. I was imagining a distinct thin line, but instead it appears about 6 inches (up to 8 inches) closer than where it should be based on the direction it's pointing. So it's not really a "set and forget" process, I have to watch it for a while and make the necessary adjustments. Also, twice one of the units itself decided it was set as a…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
