Don't waste your money

Honestly this product was the biggest disappointment and a waste of money. When I first used it, part of the drill bit was so fused that I couldn't separate the door handle drill bit to attach the door latch drill bit. So I ended up using a 1" drill bit to get the job done. Then, since the jig part is made of plastic, it broke almost immediately afterwards. The part of the template that allows you to adjust the depth broke so I had to twist it together with a piece of wood to finish the jobโ€ฆ

Better value than Dewalt Lock Kit

This Irwin kit was tested against a Dewalt kit that costs twice as much. I prefer Irwin. While it looks lightweight, it's well designed and works great. There were also no problems with melting plastic when drilling steel doors. The plastic guide and bar cutter also work great. , and undoubtedly works better than the Dewalt kit. So far I have made 4 steel doors and this is my tool. I gave up the Dewalt after 2 doors, just the crowns that came with it. Irwin wins this round.

Pros
  • Decent performance

You can imitate and learn from experience.

. Firstly it is thin as everything comes out. You can screw it in according to the instructions, but this doesn't make this BREAD HOLE GUIDE STURDY. It was a nightmare, but I managed to drill a 2 1/8 inch diameter hole. Then I tried to take the drill from the arbor, it was a nightmare. Drill bit for a 1 inch diameter saw. When I see the name Ivrine, it's not a purchase. You can be like and learn from experiences. I was inclined to believe some of the positive reviews and I was wrong.

Pros
  • Great for a small home.

A REALLY OLD BEARING WAS SOLD TO ME

I would like to say that this review focuses more on the accuracy of the sale than the tool itself. The tool itself is intact, seems serviceable and easy to use. durable and well made. The reason for my markings now is to contact the seller and describe the product and its general condition upon delivery. The packaging is obviously very old and exposed to UV light somewhere. I say this because the usual crystal clear blister pack was NONE OF THE ABOVE. The packaging is badly yellowed and actual

All I have to say it did the job.

Just gotta say it did its job, ART! I installed as directed, started drilling with a 2.5" hole saw, after about 20 seconds the edge of the hole saw somehow caught on the level, probably due to heat/expansion, and the level broke off immediately. The only saving grace was that it was bolted to the door so I could finish the side I started with and then finish the other side of the door. I also found that after drilling the 2.5" holes, it was extremely difficult to remove the pilot bit from theโ€ฆ

Great for the price

I'm no pro at installing door lock kits but I've installed about 40-50 of these locks. I usually just use a template and everything works fine. This time I know I'll be installing an extra set of security touchpad locks and I need it in 30 minutes. I thought it would reduce installation time and it worked. I took it out of the blister and saw for the first time that there were no screws to attach it to the door. No problem. The new lock has screws so I used them (see picture). The door is steel
