Good replacement for the old illegible one I've been picking from the garage for the last 40 years. Based on its construction and materials, and occasional use, I expect it to last over 40 years. Quickly check 90 degree accuracy, readability and price; I unanimously gave it 5 stars.

I've had this for over 2 years and luckily I rarely use it. I'm improving my woodworking skills so I finally have more accurate tools. While testing my new squares to see if they were correct, I decided to test this old square. Imagine my dismay when I see that this is not true. This thing pretty much rules. The markings are engraved so they don't rub off and dividers can be placed over them. The handle fits snugly in the work area and the blade has a 90° angle. My only objection is that the dragonfly in the handle is too big to be very sensitive. It goes about 50% beyond the guide lines on both sides. Maybe it's just what I have but mine is hardly good although for the price it's not worth returning. I wouldn't even recommend this angle for amateur woodwork where angle isn't that important. It is definitely not suitable for tool settings or precision work. My plastic case has a recess in the middle on both sides that can come in contact with the workpiece. There are 2 protruding indentations on the handle, one on top and one on the bottom. If you are working with a smaller object, the square will not be correct unless both indentations are adjacent to the workpiece. If you sanded them down, the square would work fine, but the scale would be off by about 1/16th, so. A simple tool that I love to use all the time, but this one just isn't for me. Fantastic tool. It's square, at least as much as you'd expect from a square plastic case. Also has some weight, the blade is 1/8" thick and 1.5" wide. The angle graduation allows it to be used as a rough protractor for common building angles, and because it's a square you can check spirit level and plumb with just a spirit level in the case.
