This presser foot only sews 1/8 inch wide. I wanted a 1/4" seam as advertised. The main slot that the needle should go in is 1/4" but the needle only goes in the 1/8" hole on the right side. Very disappointed with this leg.

It took some experimentation to figure out where to move the needle in relation to the prongs of the foot to get either a 1/4" or a skinny 1/4". Seams for sewing a patchwork quilt. This was very helpful in creating 1/2 square triangles with seams on either side of the marked diagonal center line. I use this foot more than the 1/4" side edge foot. The foot looks solid - the same quality as the feet that come with my Janome machines.

I wish it came in a regular Janome cardboard box with full instructions for use and the best situations and fabrics to use it. If it arrives without this packaging, you feel like you've received a fake. I put my foot on my car and it didn't seem to be sitting straight. I sewed from scraps of fabric and it sewed together normally. I still have to practice with that.

This foot is designed for the Acufeed Flex system and is only designed for use with the Janome HP needle plate (professional quality) which only fits a very limited number of premium Acufeed Flex systems machines (read: very expensive). My Janome Skyline S6 is a mid-range device with Acufeed Flex but without all the software bells and whistles.
