I bought a Jaras tape recorder to use for singing lessons. The cassette player works perfectly, but the built-in microphone is COMPLETELY inadequate and produces very little sound, even when the microphone is held close to the voice and played at full volume. I then ordered a Sony ECM-CS3 lavalier microphone, which is compatible with a standard voice recorder microphone jack and picks up the sound perfectly. If you're like me you've probably seen some of those cheap cassette players at Revain and thought 'hey, it is cheap. I'd like to listen to some old cassettes." However, this unit doesn't produce good sound quality. It's not just Jaras' fault though. Right now there's only one company that makes the internals for these things, but Jaras has a few Missing things.
