Description of Jeep Wrangler TJ 1997-2006 Rear Trail Arm And Center Skid Plate Frame Repair Kit

This set includes the rear trail arm repair pieces and the center skid plate repair pieces. The front trail arm pieces will fix the areas behind the front axles where rot typically occurs. On your original frame there is a factory drilled access hole, which allows debris and water to enter and creat rust over time. Our design includes a drain hole to prevent this from happening again. The front trail arm pieces includes the lower control arm and body mounts.Each piece measures approximately 20" end to end. The skid plate pieces are full length repair pieces that completely repair the areas in front of and behind the skid plates. The skid plate pieces gets attached to the frame and the transfer case and transmission gets bolted to them.Hardware is included. Each piece measures approximately 43 1/2" end to end.

Decent, not great: my feedback

Worked decent, needed some work. That's my review! The holes for the skid plate were way off. Thinner material than I had expected.

Pros
  • Worked great to repair the frame on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler.
Cons
  • While the kit offers a convenient solution for repairing damaged frames, it does not address the root cause of the damage, such as aggressive off-roading or poor maintenance. Therefore, users may need to invest in additional upgrades or repairs to prevent the same issue from reoccurring in the future

Solid repair solution!

Pros: smooth welding mild steel, notched for tub mounts in correct locations. Heavy gauge steel thicker and stronger than original frame. Very Solid repair, I have patched them before with plate steel, this costs more but is well worth the cost as the brackets are already in place for the swingarms. I highly recommend this repair kit but you will need some shop skills to install.Note: tools used were angle grinder with cutoff wheels and grinding disks, reciprocating saw (5 blades), harbor…
