I gave this product a negative review at first because the spoon I received broke the first time I tried to use it for chocolate chip cookies. Shortly after posting a review, I received a call from Jeff, one of Jenaluca's owners. He apologized for my concerns and explained that each of their shovels is manually inspected for quality and due to this complexity sometimes a faulty shovel can slip through and be shipped. He kindly offered to replace the shovel immediately and it just arrived today.

It has a different locking system (see part on the handle) than the ones I found at the grocery store and all the others I looked at. I went through three other types and broke each one within a few months because I was using them for tough cookie dough, not just thinner cookie dough.
