The product worked for my M1 per mbp (2021) chip. You need to connect each side with a USB-C to USB-C and HDMI to HDMI cable. And you need a USB-C to USB-A cable to charge the power supply. If you are using an m1 mbp chip I don't think this will work as the mbp 2020 model does not have an HDMI port. 12" is great for my 14" Mac. This is a great laptop monitor. I can use it for work and play on my laptop. It's also a very lightweight monitor. The weight of this monitor is well balanced so it cannot tip over or fall on its side. It also fits my laptop perfectly. The screen is very clear. The instructions are very simple and clear.
