Hands get hot when the burner heats up. If the torch were liquid cooled it would never heat up. This means that hands in gloves do not heat up. These gloves are perfect for anything up to 120 amps with an air-cooled flashlight.

It's like a thicker golf glove. These are excellent gloves where the wire feeds easily. However, I would not buy them again as there is no cuff and I caught an arc burn in the small gap between jacket and glove. You need a cuff.

I just can't believe they lasted so long. It's like wearing a golf glove, but it's a really tough glove. I had thicker gloves that tore when placing this throw. I try not to wear them when I'm sanding or using other tools besides my Tigi. But you know how to do it.

Overall quality as expected from Tillman. Although after a few weeks of use the velcro on one of the gloves came loose from the seam. This is probably a manufacturing defect, but most likely the gloves cannot be exchanged/returned at the moment.

I use soldering gloves in tight corners and they are perfect for the job. Soft and flexible, excellent touch. These are NOT work gloves. An hour setting concrete molds and it's junk. My pair was large and they were almost too small for my small hands.

Was looking for a cheaper replacement for my 263354 Miller gloves. Well I think I'll be ordering more 263354 Miller gloves again. John Tillman 1488 L True Fit Large fits very snugly, and the material is much thinner than Miller's and heats up quickly. I'm sure I'll still use them, but not for TIG. The only good thing is that they are very flexible and can easily accommodate a welding wire.

For context I bought these gloves for video light work. Even in this case, which is (presumably) significantly less thermally intense than welding, these gloves let me down. The gloves have a thick layer all around and this layer is quite thin. Heat penetrates these gloves very quickly for all temperature sensitive applications. So these are TIG gloves, nice and thin. This is where the good ends. Cuff fell off on first use. I've been a JIW for Local 396 out of St.Louis for many years and Port Freight makes the best gloves. For TIG, we need that thin glove to feel and feed the filler metal, but if they break on the first pull, what's the point? Don't weld like me and similar gloves you need to protect your hands from the heat. Just use a different glove.

They are also great for driving, golfing, drumming, quad biking and more. Cons: These gloves get dirty very easily/quickly. I have learned to wear them ONLY when TIG welding, not when cutting, grinding, MIG welding, cleaning or anything else. Cuts from abrasives and blades easily damage these gloves.
