Typing is comfortable, but the keys creak.

I have very mixed feelings about this keyboard. Most importantly, it's a pleasure to tap on. The keys have less actuation force than an Apple chiclet keyboard and are comfortable to type on. The keyboard also looks good and is very thin. The feet position the keys at a comfortable angle for me to type. As you type, you'll find that the scissor-switch keys are quieter than a basic office rubber dome keyboard. The keyboard has a non-standard modifier layout, but you can quickly adapt to it. It…

If you like POUNDING keyboards, this is the keyboard for you!

If you need a SILENT keyboard, this could be for you. If you need a keyboard that requires REMOVE to achieve keystrokes, this might work for you, but if rapping isn't your typing style, LOOK AHEAD! I might have given this keyboard a 2 if I had reviewed it the day I received it, but after a few months I hated it - I'd give it minus 5 stars if I could. My accuracy and speed dropped because I wasn't typing on the keyboard, which requires very heavy fingers to press the keys. Key spacing is also…

  • Excellent overall performance

Quiet and very high quality

Keyboard preferences are clearly personal, but this one suits me perfectly. Pros (for me): 1. Very quiet; no crackle clink2. A premium feel similar to high-end Mac3 keyboards. The stroke is longer than most chiclet boards, but shorter than typical mechanics4. Weighted base and rubber feet keep it stable5. Low Profile6. Two tilt positions (folding support)7. Price - I like it more than "mechanics" 3 times more expensive8. Black with easy-to-read lettering and graphics for a premium look and…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Recently switched from Mac to PC and immediately missed the flat Macintosh keyboard with its quiet, equally flat keys. The Kensington Slim Type Wired Keyboard is more than just a replacement: it's more than twice the weight of Macintosh keyboards and feels very solid. Its heavy weight, combined with rubber pads on the bottom, also prevents accidental movement of the keyboard; it stays where you want it until you pick it up and move it. Although the look is very sleek and minimalist, Kensington…

Quieter than Microsoft 600 and Logitech k120

I was looking for a quiet keyboard, so that my keyboard is not audible when calling. I originally had a Logitech K120 and also bought a Microsoft 600 wired keyboard. This Kensington keyboard was the quietest of the three. I did a phone test using an Apple headset, and the person on the other line helped me judge which keyboard on the phone was the quietest. The Kensington was the quietest on the phone, only a space being audible when I was typing properly. The Microsoft keyboard came in second,

  • understandable also for the old ones

  • some little things

Quieter, but not completely quiet - enough for now!

I was looking for a QUIET wired keyboard because I work from home and often have conferences where I need to type - keyboard clicks are very annoying! I didn't want wifi because I never forget to charge it (although the batteries might be ok). It took me a long time to find a truly quiet keyboard, I tried at least 10 keyboards that claimed to be quiet or silent but weren't. It's been a nasty quest! Although the keys on this keyboard are laid out a little differently than what I'm used to, I…

  • Everything is fine!

Nice build for the price

Trying to find a budget keyboard here is incredibly difficult and horribly time consuming with too many options from brands I've never heard of so after buying a huge one had number of options to iterate over. I was looking at a wired mouse that I have used for many years as it has never had any problems and it was Kensington. So, the Kensington branded keyboard is what I was looking for and I have no regrets. .not yet, at least since I've been using it for a little over a week. This is now my…

Quiet, durable design **Updated May 17**

I will never again order a $12 Revain Basics or Logitech keyboard for me or my office. This Kensington keyboard is *super* quiet! I'm a quiet keyboard fanatic - I take apart keyboards and smear them with super-expensive DuPont lube just to experiment with noise-cancellation. I roll my eyes at what an inexperienced user would consider "quiet". Trust me - when it comes to something out of the box, I've found this keyboard to be nearly silent. It's thin, sleek, and the keys have a low profile…
