Needs programming

YouTube videos claim that the car breaker can be programmed with the car. The 2008 CRV programs the locks but not the breaker and the car will not start. (it actually starts but only works for a few seconds) Took a dead key in batteries plus bulbs, cut and programmed the key for about $50. The key works great and I can recommend the Batteries Plus bulbs.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Repair

Great results with Keyless2Go keychains.

The replacement key fobs for my Honda were programmed by a local locksmith and have been working great ever since. Not all fobs can be programmed, usually it's just a bad fob. Try to find a locksmith with the right software or you could be out of luck. Also, use a trusted supplier to buy your fob. Had great results with Keyless2go.com.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • boring packaging

Attention immobilizer chip

The key seems to be made well enough and you can program it to the door locks yourself (YouTube). But if, like me, you have a 2009 CR-V, then there's an "immobilizer" chip that still won't let you start the car. Luckily I still had my old broken key. I disassembled the keys and changed the knobs and then it worked. And it wasn't easy to find a locksmith who could carve the key for a reasonable price, but I found one. The key is called a "sidewinder" and requires a special machine to cut it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Great deal and works great!

Received my first car a couple of weeks ago and was a bit disappointed when I was only given the starter keys to my car. After finding a video and tutorial on how to "program" the key fob for my car (Honda Fit 2010), I decided to try this key as it is significantly cheaper than a Honda branded key. I didn't have high hopes but it works great. Programming only took 1 minute and was very easy to follow. I'm so happy I chose to go this route instead of paying over $150 everywhere it says so. If…

Works like an OEM key!

I wanted to return this key because I could not get the key for the program as stated in the YouTube video. A 2009 Honda Fit Sport Auto and they wouldn't have taken it. I then ordered a $50 Honda OEM key and started the return process. I called a local mobile locksmith who once cut and programmed another key for me and they only charged me $50 to have an OEM key made. I told him about the old fashioned $15 key I was returning and he said he would make it for me for free. So I would have an…

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

I bought this after having to go to the dealer to replace my only key due to a broken key fob. The dealer charged me $44 to cut a new key and replace the module. I bought this keychain for about a third of the price. I am still looking for a place to cut the key as everywhere I go they are reluctant to sharpen the key. Programming the fob/module wasn't an easy task, but YouTube will help you here. I programmed the key fob after watching a few videos and being persistent. When programming a key…

  • Excellent construction

Honda CRV DIY

The Honda CRV key that came with the car started falling apart so it's time to get a new one. I've dealt with dealers before and they charge a ridiculous amount of money so I decided to give it a try. Using Youtube I installed a key fob for auto programming (or so I thought) that even after you hire a locksmith to laser cut the key you STILL have to go to the dealer to program it. Simply doing the above will get you to the point where everything seems to be working, but the car will shut off…

Pros
  • Replacement Key Absolute Legend
Cons
  • High Price
