I used this to clean old porcelain before polishing. To be honest I didn't notice much of a difference between the different colors of dishwashing sponges, but they all worked as I expected. These pads pair best with cleaners like Ajax or SoftScrub. For tricky spots that won't clean, use fine sandpaper and then go over these pads and you should have good results. Make sure you have a drill with a standard chuck and a decent RPM.

Used one of these pads for the first time yesterday. It worked very well. My tub has a spring loaded bracket that holds soap, shampoo, etc. It had dirt on the edge of the floor on the tub. I first tried a nylon hand brush. This worked well, but clearly took some time and effort. I then used one of these pads with my drill. It was much quicker and easier. This is exactly what you need. I go through a lot of things like this when I'm cleaning things that would take me forever to clean by hand. I'm not super careful, I put the drill up and go cleaning the town, so I tend to damage the velcro foam holder that comes with the drill a bit.
