KidCo Auto Close Gateway G1101 Review

I really like the release button on this gate. When my kids are sleeping or not at home, I can leave the gate open. The gate itself is very strong and well assembled. The magnetic closure works great and I love that I can hear it close.

No instructions included but you can easily watch the installation video online/YouTube. Once you have this, installation will be quick and easy. No problem. Very happy with this product so far - actually bought it for dogs not kids (but they are basically the same). It works just like it does in the video and definitely feels sturdy enough for everyday use. I'm definitely thinking about buying extra gratings for the stairs.

We tried 2 other gates before we found this one. It's easy enough for our 5 year old to open and we really like the auto close feature. We added an extension kit and Y brackets to match our railing. The installation was uncomplicated. While it did need to be tightened after the first few days (never had a falling issue, only the automatic closure didn't work either), it's been a few months since I've tightened it and I haven't had to touch it. it's been since then.

Great Gate. We use it at the end of our steps. Have it in black and it will match as our spindles are black wrought iron. We used a Y connector to do this (just one) as it was installed between the wall on one side and the spindle on the other. When your dogs can't jump over and get between the bars, this gate will hold them from both sides. My basset hounds leaned on it, bumped and tripped on it and one even tried to ram it (and found it was useless) so I doubt a child too small to operate a latch would could handle it. I've had this gate for a few weeks - I put it on the first wooden step leading to our upstairs bedrooms - to keep our dog from going upstairs going where he has broken carpets in the past (recently changed carpet) and not sure if it will ever change despite new teaching methods.
