Review on KidCo Auto Close Gateway G1101 by Dawn Acosta

I've had this gate for a few weeks - I put it on the first wooden step leading to our upstairs bedrooms - to keep our dog from going upstairs going where he has broken carpets in the past (recently changed carpet) and not sure if it will ever change despite new teaching methods. The gate was easy to install and looked pretty solid. I explained to the kids that the gate closes automatically unless they lean it up (90 degrees) - just beware it always closes. So far it's been great. No problems with the automatic closing mechanism even though we've only been using it for a couple of weeks. I like the black color - it doesn't show dirty spots like on white. I think this product will be great if we take care of it and not slam it. So far, so good.
