They do not protect any surface from heat transfer as the holes allow heat to act directly on the bottom surface. They are completely useless on heat-sensitive surfaces such as wood. Almost almost useless. It would be far better to just place a pot holder or other insulating material *without holes*.

So I'm very happy with the shelves that go down some were loose you have to put them yourself isn't a problem I just glued them , I have very very Put hot pans on it, it leaves a warm spot on the countertop but that's to be expected, very happy with them, slightly more decorative than standard cork

A great set of everyday hotpads that we always have on our kitchen island. They're done when you have a hot pan or simmering pot. Just grab one of the bamboo coasters and place the hot pot safely. They're trendy and chic so you can always take them with you, and the compact stand gives you 4 for quick use.

I think they are very expensive for what they are. Very thin - about 1/4 inch - I don't think that's deep enough to protect anything. Also, mine are unfinished - there is no protective seal. "Protective" foot pads are a joke. I didn't do what I usually do - at first I didn't read the reviews - I trusted the pictures. They are made from very poor quality bamboo. They are at least twice as expensive as they should be.

Sufficient for the price. Some of the pins in the stand are loose, others required a hammer to install. Trivery is a fairly smooth wood. Removable foam legs could be better. The glue on them won't last long I guess. I would not recommend submerging them in water to clean them. Just use mild soap and a rag. They appear to be slightly sealed.

I would give three and a half stars if I could. Pros: Coasters are constantly wiped clean after each use. No problem with dirt or deposits in the corners. In testing, I found that the rubber feed didn't transfer too much heat from the pan to the surface. This is a beautiful natural tree. Cons: They're a bit thinner than I expected. The legs are rubber, stick them on the glue by yourself. I'm afraid it might melt with heavy use. And I worry that the adhesive will wear off with repeated use and…
