Two probes must be plugged into outlets at exactly the same time to measure current as probes are not designed for wall outlets. When the sensor reads "no power," it's hard to tell what's causing it - the outlet or the sensor.

This has to be the best small and handy tester you can buy! Good enough for the "pros" and also for those of us who change sockets and switches at home every now and then. Very safe to use and accurately indicates the presence of voltage before you start your electrical projects.

Some reviews mention short cables, they are short. The same people would probably cry about being too long if they were longer. In the end, carrying a multimeter wins. In most cases, this little thing is enough. I don't regret the purchase, I use it quite often.

It works with universal outlets, which is what I needed it for, but the tapered tips don't fit far enough into a standard US 120V outlet to take measurements. I need to cut off the tips and attach new wires so I can test American standard outlets. Don't buy standard American sockets to test, it won't work.

Used to replace several sockets around the house. Agree with another review that said the wires could be a bit longer. It is difficult to insert the probes while holding the tester. I inevitably make a problem and leave the tester hanging upside down. I just need to know if the outlet has power. Well it does the job.
