I work in harsh environments so Cobra is not an option. They probably get sprayed with wd-40 once a month to keep them from rusting. This tool is very easy to open and close, I prefer a button that forces you to change the handle position. With practice, I found that they can be opened/closed with one hand.

Channel lock Knipex pliers don't have an excellent reputation for nothing. Easily adjustable, won't slip or grab anything unfortunate enough to be their target. BIG capacity for a small package. In many cases I will mainly use them instead of a vise. I was highly recommended by a friend and I agree. Currently only this size available but I will try to add more when it goes on sale.

These are the best channel locking pliers I have ever bought. This particular style is my personal recommendation. They have a thin profile and can slide into hard-to-reach places. Having been a big fan of canal locks for years, I lost my 430s and a friend of mine lent me a pair of 10 inch alligators.
