In a word, disappointed.

This collection is simply amazing. a nice scarf and a few interesting things, but too many scarves and tiny handkerchiefs for only an elf to wear. Many of the designs are too simplistic and rather boring. There are too many geometric patterns (I prefer something more complex) and the shawls are very simple. I was hoping for something more creative from Interweave. Sigh, it's going on the bookshelf.

This book was a big surprise. Lots of easy to knit patterns but no repeating patterns in every book. Does everyone knit socks? With the instructions in this book, you can relax while knitting. They are not intended for beginners, but the instructions are written in a style that allows you to understand what and how each pattern is knitted. I wish I could find more like this book. And I have a large collection of books. But I won't buy another book that tells me to knit socks. Bobble, bobble and

Beautiful Knitted Lace Book

Anne Merrow has created a beautiful book of knitted lace patterns from issues of Interweave magazine. The book has a section on the endless possibilities of lace and sections on yarn sources, but the bulk of the book is patterns. These patterns are amazing. Some of them are mapped, others are advertised. Most of them appear to be mapped. I prefer to knit from the written patterns, but I may be in the minority.
